Learning...N fun!

Field trips bring learning to life!

Inspired by the many artifacts from the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharoahs exhibit at the DeYoung Museum, in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, had River Valley students and teachers "walking like Egyptians"!

Uniquely beautiful geology and stunning displays of rare helictitie crystals made the tour of the Black Chasm Cavern a visual treat from start to finish.

Picturing the women grinding acorns on the large grinding rock at Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park, and then, in the museum, seeing, touching, and hearing about baskets, tools, toys, arrows and flints, and how these were ingeniously made and used, led to increased admiration and respect for the local Maidu peoples.

Learning a new skill like snowboarding on a sunny Sierra day is so much fun!  River Valley generally takes 2-3 Snowboard Trips each year.

A popular way to kick off the summer vacation for River Valley students is to join family and friends on the annual end-of-the-year trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom!
